VI Chemical Peel

What is the difference between the VI Chemical Peel and other chemical peels?

Unlike other chemical peels, the VI Chemical Peel treatments are virtually painless, require no skin preconditioning and have minimal downtime. VI peels are suitable for exfoliating the face and body. They also have vitamins and minerals which nurture the skin at the same time as it is going through the exfoliation process. These peels are practical, affordable and give excellent results in as little as one (1) week. VI Peels are suitable for a variety of skin types and concerns. The VI Peel also comes with a take home kit that includes Post Peel Towelettes, Post Peel Protectant, and VI Derm SPF 50+ to help with healing during the exfoliation process.

When will I stop peeling?

In general, you receive the peel on day one (1) and start peeling on or around day three (3). Every peel can be different, but in general you can expect peeling during days 3-7 days. Peeling may last additional days for some individuals. Body peeling tends to take a little longer for the peeling process to occur, and peeling can occur during days 3-10.

Can I Peel The Skin That Is Hanging During The Peeling Process?

No. NEVER PULL BACK on the skin that is shedding. It is recommended to use a small cuticle scissor to trim the exfoliating skin. You can also go and wash the face to help gently remove the hanging skin. If washing the face multiple times a day, be sure to add moisture back to the skin by applying the Post Peel Protectant or coconut oil. You also MUST use the VI Derm SPF 50+ to protect the skin during and after the exfoliation process.

How Many Times A Year Can A Person Have A VI Peel Done?

VI Chemical Peels can be administered every 4-6 weeks as part of a series. We will work with you to create a custom treatment plan for your skin.

What VI Derm® skin care products should I use after a VI Peel?

It is recommended to speak to your Practitioner and they can educate you on what is the best regimen to use for your skin type and concerns. We offer a variety of skincare solutions to enhance and extend the results of your VI Peel or to simply optimize your skin health. For a basic regimen it is suggested to cleanse, hydrate and protect the skin with the VI Derm Cleanser, Advanced Firming Lotion and SPF 50+.

What is the difference between VI Peel and VI Purify?

VI Peel is for all skin types, body treatments, and keratosis pilaris. It has active ingredients including TCA, Salicylic Acid, Retinoic Acid, Phenol, Vitamin C and a proprietary mineral blend. VI Purify is for oily, blemish prone skin, acne vulgaris, acne scarring and acne simplex. It has active ingredients including Benzoyl Peroxide, Kojic acid, Hydrocortisone, TCA, Salicylic Acid, Retinoic Acid, Phenol, Vitamin C and a proprietary mineral blend.

How many days after a peel can I start exercising?

You need to refrain from activities that raise the body temperature significantly and can induce sweating for 72-96 hours (3-4 days). Inducing excessive perspiration/sweating may cause blistering or post inflammatory hyperpigmentation in the skin.
